Are you looking for something absolutely scrumdillyumptious? Something apart from the norm? Well, listen up! My friend Mary has something truly special! Prickly pear jelly. Yep, you heard me right. Prickly pears, something Texas is certainly not short on. I have to say I'm a little surprised myself. It's some of the best jelly I've ever eaten! It's great on a slice of warm toast, or grandmas homemade biscuits, but we found something even better. What's that you say? What could be better? That's exactly what we thought.

Drum roll please....mix the simple syrup into the batter of your favorite cheesecake recipe and bake. Slice it up and top with a dab of the jelly. Sounds crazy, I know, but honestly it is one of the best cheesecake's I've ever eaten. It is superb to say the least.

So, if you want something different for your next family get-together, it's certainly worth the effort.
